The Karmanos Foundation Race for the Cure took place at Comerica Park on June 5, 2004.  25,000 people, including 1,500 breast cancer survivors participated in this year's race.  I was honored to serve on the committee for my employer's team and participate in the event. The pictures below were taken on the digital camera in my Palm Zire 71

The young man holding the sign named his team "GLOW" because of all the radiation therapy his Mom had needed.

Waiting in the crowd at Hockeytown for the race to begin.  Pink shirts were worn by survivors. Many people had signs on their backs indicating whom they were racing in memory of or in celebration of.   I raced in memory of my Mom, Mildred Sanders, who was a breast cancer survivor for over 5 years.  We lost her to heart disease in 2002 and you can read more about her on my " A Rose for Mother" page.

After the race, I really did have feet left and walked the six blocks back to the parking lot.
