Lee McDowell "RCRENEGADE"
Welcome To My Webpage
Hello, my name is Lee, and I thought I would just use this space to tell a little about myself.
I am 42 years old, and live in the Black Hills of South Dakota.  I live in Rapid City and am currently enrolled in school at Oglala Lakota College, (OLC). I am an undergraduate studying in Environmental Science/Conservation Biology.  I am planning to graduate in the spring of 2008 with my Bachlor of Science degree.
I am very interested in conservation and environmental education.  I think that a lot of the problems in the world today stem from lack of respect.  I believe that if people learned to respect the world around them that respect with other people would come natural.  Respecting the environment encourages consideration and compassion, and discourages selfishness.  After I obtain my degree, I hope to secure a position with the Department of Interior as an environmental and conservation interpreter. I would rather work as an educator in a social setting than an institutional setting. I have a resume that can be viewed here.  I also have a site titled RCRenegade Environment Conservation Education Site.  Please check it out.
Summer 2005
I spent my time doing an internship as a research assistant working on the Cheyenne River Habitat Assessment.  I participated in a program called Bridges to Success through OLC.  This program focuses on easing the transfer process from the Science, Engineering, and Math degree program at OLC to the four-year engineering degree program at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (SDSM&T).  Both OLC and SDSM&T are partner institutions of ANLSAMP.  I worked closely with Dr Kenner of SDSM&T and Andrew Patceg and Ahmed Debabneh, two grad students from the SDSM&T researching the watershed of the Cheyenne River and its tributaries.  I learned a lot about watershed and sediment transportation in the streams and rivers of western South Dakota and the Black Hills.  A complete journal of my summer can be found here,
My Summer 2005 Journal.
Fall 2005
The fall semester at Oglala Lakota College finished very well for me with a 4.0 GPA for the semester, bringing my accumulated GPA to a 3.75.  I Received credits for General Chemistry I, Introduction to Water Colors, Lakota Language II, and Introduction to GIS (Geographic Positioning Systems).  I have included pictures of some of my water colors on my
poetry and art page.  I had the opportunity to redo my Battle Creek Watershed Poster using ArcMap, which I have posted along with the original.
I was going to post here what has been going on each semester in school, but I will be posting this info on my blog.  My blog can be seen here RC_Renegade's Blog.
I enjoy about anything in the outdoors hiking, camping, fishing... photography, and music of all types. Visit my Home Life page to find out more about me.  See my Photo Album for pictures.
