Types of Magic
There are several different types of magic, per se.  All of them can amaze and WOW your guests depending on the quality and ability of the magician performing them.  Some magicians focus on a primary type, some have both a primary and secondary type, and others simply focus on all of them.

Though one is no better than the other, some are better for particular venues than others.  Therefore, it is important that you...

* Determine your purpose for hiring magic entertainment, and

* Consult with the professional magician you are considering hiring
as to what the best type or types of magic would be best for your
   particular venue.

So, what are the various types of magic?

That is a good question.  To the right is a list of the basic types of magic and a brief description of each.  The type of magic you choose for your venue will depend on the purpose of your entertainment, your budget, and the venue.  Many combine one or more of the various magic types in order to provide the intimacy that the close-up and parlor magic provide and the big impression that the stage magic provides with all the illusions, assistants, special effects, animals, and such.

Close-up
This type of magic is normally performed at restaurants, parties, events, and on the street.  It is probably the more "intimate" type of magic than the others because it is magic that  takes place anywhere from a few feet to a few inches in front of you or even within your very hands.  Close-up magic is usually performed for 1-10 people either at tables in a restaurant or at parties/events or on the street.

Parlor
Though similar to close-up magic, this form of magic is a little bit less "intimate." It still happens up close.  However, the magician is usually performing for a group of about 10-50 people while standing either on a small stage or in front of them at a table.

Stage
This form of magic takes place normally in a living room for a birthday party to upon a large stage  before a large audience.  It usually involves animals, assistants, bigger props, greater special effects,  and larger illusions than Close-up or Parlor Magic.  This type of magic can provide a big impression at company, school, hurch events, & your at your own special event.
