Good job. You have made it this far very fast. Now it's time to get to the foundation of all chi training- Chi Kung. This is a special breathing that trains your chi by making it circulate through your body and then back out. This technique is also known as grounding. To start off you must first make sure the area around you is peaceful. There shouldn't be any disturbance at all whatsoever. Sit down on the floor with one leg crossed over the other. Once you have done this you must make your back as straight as you can. Good posture is important when practicing chi. You can't lean forward or backward. Your back has to be in a neutral position centered with your body and at the same time straight. You cannot slouch at all. Slouching will prevent the flow of chi. Then you have to release all the air out of your lungs through your mouth very fast. When you have done this, close your mouth and place the tip of your tounge behind the top off your front teeth. Begin breathing in all the air around you slowly through your nose. Make the air fill up your lungs. While you are doing this, imagine that the air is bringing chi along with it into your lungs. Chi looks like small blue particles floating in the air the size of a pea. Chi is perfectly round. Fill up your lungs with all the chi around you along with the air. You must remember that you have to take in chi very slowly and even when it is going down your lungs it must drop down very slowly like a feather. Now let's take a little break and reread everything you have just read before this red sentence. You have to let it stick to your mind well enough so that you do not have to come back to this page again because you forgot a sentence or two. Once your lungs are full you must release everything you have just breathed in back into the area around you. Never release air through your mouth. Instead use your nose for both purposes- breathing in and out. Release all the air and chi you just gained back out your body. Just take everything out of your lungs slowly. Basically, reverse the procedure. This time the air will take out all the chi from your lungs. It's as simple as that. You have to imagine that the chi is coming out of your lungs though. Never ever use your mouth. Only use your nose. Start this whole process over from the begining. Do this over and over five minutes. This means: breathe in air with chi then breathe out air with chi. Breathe in air with chi then breathe out air with chi. Close your eyes while doing this. It will help your concentrate and visualize better. Visualize means to imagine. When you cut off one of your sences then your other sences becoem stronger. That is why it is better to close your eyes when doing this. Do not be afraid to be seen by your mom when practicing chi kung. Even though you wont see her come in, you will feel heat coming closer to you other than your owns and the chi. Right then it is best to just stop and just act casual as if you weren't doing anything. Trust me this works. By the way, when you visualize the chi coming into your lungs, dont worry about where it came from. You can make just make it appear out of nowhere and come in. This is because even the air has living particles in it which contain chi. Don't move onto the next technique yet. First you must get comfortable with praciticin chi kung for five minutes. Then move on to ten minutes. Then fifteen. Once you can do thirty, then you can move onto the next technique. You dont have to do it all in one day. Like five today, ten tommorrow, and so on until thirty minutes is easy to do. This helps prevent burnout which is the tensing of the muscles from practicing chi for too long. It really hurts trust me. So to prevent it, you must do the chi kung breathing cycles. If done right you should feel heavier as though you are being pulled into the ground.
