Cont. from p. 2 Homer factor? It really depends on what kind of collector you are. If you're a pedestrian collector, one simple thing will turn you away; $80 retail for a 7" tall transforming fighter. Yeah. Have you fainted? No? Good. Now why in the name of Frank Miller do you spend this much money? Because of the LONG list of stuff I just mentioned. If you are a die-hard collector, this is hard to pass up. Yes, it's pricey but this is the kind of piece even non-collectors go 'Wow... that's really cool.' It's no longer just a 'toy', it borders on a work of art. Final verdict? This piece is... there aren't enough superlatives to gush about this thing. This is a work of beauty created by craftsmen who want to create not just a toy that gets beat-up fighting other giant robots. No, this is something that... well, you CAN do that, but it's ALSO something you can proudly put on your shelf as a display piece. No it is not for everyone, and DEFINITELY not a piece for anyone under 10. But for those looking for something reeeaaaaaaaaal special, it's worth it. Oh, and one more thing... in the 'toon, this piece merged with a vehicle called a Beta fighter. Basically a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig transformable fighter that acted as a special booster and heavy weapons platform to the Alpha. So guess what's coming out this year? Oh yeah!!!!!!!! Back to p. 1 |
