Blade - Marvel Studio Collector Editoin
Meat and Potatoes; 5.0
Perks; 5.0
Homer Factor; 5.0
Description;  The Day Walker in all of his 5" glory.

Blade is approsimately 5" long and is wearing his classic combat gear; body armor, trench coat, and enough weapons to hold back an army.  and almost all of the weapons fit on his tiny utility belt.  Oh yeah!

The figure also has a ton of arituclation, from ball-joints in the shoulders to his toes.
Sure,  'Spider-Man' and 'X-Men' were awesome movies, but the one that really started the Marvel ball turning into a juggernaut was 'Blade'.  Yes, I can hear Doug Moench seething at this one.  But honestly, Blade went from being an unknown horror character to a butt-kicking, bad-ass, vampire-hunting fiend with Wesley snipes as The Day Walker.  No the movie wasn't brilliant, but it's a lot of fun to watch... and you haven't seen that many hand-weapons and gadgets since Batman.  An assortment of guns, that weird spinning-blade thingy, and the very, very, VERY cool katana.

Believe or not, a toy line actually appeared for 'Blade', before the big action-figure boom took over.  Bad new is these figures can be pretty hard to find.  Good news, if you can get your hands on Blade, like I did, you have found an incredible piece of work.

Meat and potatoes on this bad-boy are pretty dang impressive.  Before Marvel Legends went nuts with articulation, this figure was bending all over the place; ball-joints in the shoulders, even the classic toe-joint.  Wow.  The sculpt was also very good; a nice likeness of Wesley, down to the funky hair-cut.

However, it's the perks that sell this figure.  Machine pistol?  Got it.  Big shotgun?  Check.  Spinning- thingy?  Yep.  The big, baaad sword?  Of course.  Giant cross-bow?  Um... he didn't have one in the movie.  Oh hell, nothing wrong with one more big, honking weapon to wield against the blood-suckers.  Oh and get this; just about all of them can be stored on Blades' utility belt.  Not bad for a 5" figure.  And if that weren't enough, The Day Walker also has a REMOVABLE, vinyl trench-coat.  Hey, if you're going to be a butt-kicking martial-artist, you GOTTA have the coat.

Homer factor?  At first, I was rather lerry of the line; figures based on 'Blade'?  Yeah, whatever.  Fortunately, I was waaaaaaaaaaay wrong.

In the end, this is an incredible figure to have; great posability and sculpt, and lots and lots and LOTS of extras to keep you occupied.  The good news was this figure was just a fore-shadowing of the work that would be produced by Marvel.  Goody, goody, goody!
