Ok, ok, I know, I HATE GIMMICKY FIGURES. Wait, wait, let me explain here... I don't like gimmicky stuff if it doesn't FIT THE CHARACTERS. Bagillion versions of Batman? Come on, Bat's adlibbed stuff better then MacGyver. Hundreds of version of Wolverine? Um, did he ever change his clothes? Now Boba Fett... seriously, think about it. This guy had more gadgets then James Bond... soooooooooooooo... could be... Ya know how it is, Dengar tells Boba about this reeeeeeeeeeeeal annoying guy at the local pub, keeps busting on Boba for being taken out by Solo at the Sarlacc Pit. HATES hearing that freaking story over... and over.. and OVER AGAIN. So, it's pay-back time... Just a thermite detonator? Nah. Booby-trap? Uh-uh. Blaster to the head? No way, babe. For THIS guy, he gets the SPECIAL equipment, the deluxe wing-blaster rocket!!!! ... ok, so it probably wouldn't work like that. Shut up. Meat and potatoes? Well, considering the main figure is already pretty awesome, the grade is high. The same basic sculpt and painting are used from the original Fett figure, so you're looking at a very nice start to this idea. Besides, the main reason we're checking into this are the perks; the wing-blaster pack. The back is almost twice the size of the figure. It attaches to the same mounting-point as Fett's normal rocket-pack. However, this things is reeeeal big; a large back-pack sculpted with large fuel-tanks on the back, two wings that pop out with two sets of blaster-cannons on the wings, AND a large missile-launcher right on the back. The pack itself has the same, well-worn look Fett has; the 'worn-off' paint, the sand-blasted look, all give the piece a feel of being well used, probably hidden in Slave-1 inside of a biiiiiiiiiiiiig packing-crate for those SPECIAL jobs. Homer factor? It's all pretty relative. Ok, ok, I'll be honest; this is a giant gimmick to sucker you into buying ANOTHER Boba Fett figure. But at least it's a well-done gimmick. In the end, it's a fun piece to have. It's like soap operas or pro-wrestling; one of those guilty pleasure you don't admit to, but you still LOVE to have around. And hey, toys are meant to be fun, right? |
