Ghost Rider  - Marvel Legends, Series 3, ToyBiz
Meat and Potatoes; 5.0
Perks; 5.0
Homer Factor; 5.0
Description;  'American Choppers' meets 'The Excorcist'!  Ok, not quite, but close enough.  Bwahahahahahahahahahaha.

This 7" figure is based on the Post Johnny Blaze version of Ghost Rider.  GR is in a black riding suit with removable chains that can be held by the figure as a weapon.  As usual, the figure is loaded with tons o' articulation so he can ride his bike.  Yep, he comes with a bike!

The bike isn't the regular chopper Blaze rode but a bit more futuristic-looking with a cool 'nose' on the hood.  The bike is designed to just sit on a shelf or be mounted on a wall so it looks like the bike is driving up the wall.
Remember this guy?  Ah, the Gen-Xers do; flaming bike, channeling a demon who wallows in vengence, so much fun.  Bwahahahahahahaha.  Ok, so this sounds like a reject from an Image title.  Still, Ghost Rider was a fun character before the anti-hero schtick became so big.  Considering how... unnerving the character is (Flaming skull, biker jacket.  Yeah, your local priest would have a cow with this one.) it never took off as far as toys went.  Flash forward to now, when McFarlane toys is pushing the envelope with the 'Wizard of Oz' and 'Tortured Souls' pieces, and suddenly Fonzie with his head aflame ain't so bad.  But how do you remake a '70s and '80s cult character that will satisfy the old fans and suck-in the new fans?  You let Legends cut loose.  The end result is another stellar figure that shows why Legends is one of THE lines to collect.

Meat and potatoes on this piece are a showcase of the work ToyBiz has done on the Legends line.  The sculpting on this piece captures the post Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider incredibly well; the flaming head, the rugged biker gear.  The articulation would also make Spider-Man envious.  Literally EVERYTHING has a joint; wrist, toes, even FINGERS.  I'm amazed the jaw didn't open and close.

Perks are equally stunning.  Rather then just a stand, the piece is a reproduction of Ghost Rider's infamous flaming bike, and the articulation in Ghost Rider allows him to RIDE THE BIKE.  Cooooooool.  The bike works well on a shelf, but there's an extra surprise.  There are holes on the bottom of the bike's flaming wheels that allow you to mount the thing on a wall so it looks like it's driving up the wall!  Woohoo!

Homer factor?  I was a GR fan in grade school.  Hey, how can you not like the entire flaming head, psycho avenger thing when you're a teenager?  Woohoo!  Throw in the rep of the Legends line, and you've got a drooling fan-boy.

And this fan-boy wasn't disappointed.  Marvel Legends has been setting the bar pretty high for action figure companies over the last few years.  At this rate, the bar is going to be so high you're going to need a rocket to get over it.  Goodie for toy fans!
