Dr. Doom - Marvel Legends Series 2, ToyBiz
Meat and Potatoes; 5.0
Perks; 5.0
Homer Factor; 5.0
Description;  the soverign ruler of Latvaria is brought to life.

Dr. Doom is 6" tall and is decked in his classic costume; silver battle armor, green tunic and cloak, and that trade-mark mask.  There are multiple points of articulation on the figure.

The piece also comes with a pistol that fits in his holster and a stand that looks like a turret of his castle.
Sure, the Joker has his Joker Venom, Thanos has the Infinity Gauntlet, but do any of these guys run a COUNTRY???!?!??!?!!  Ok, ok so Lex is the President, but he can still be impeached! (Assuming anyone LIVES long enough to do that, but that's another issue entirely.)  Doom is THE Sovereign Ruler of Latvaria, somewhere in Eastern Europe, so eat that!  Doom is very unique in that he's brilliant AND he's got this butt-kicking armor to take out the good guys with.  Naturally Marvel Legends HAD to pay homage to one of the great villains in comics!

Meat and potatoes are very good, but not outstanding as they usually are.  The sculpt is awesome on this piece; the rivets on Doom's face-mask, the tarnished and dented look of the armor, all of this gives this figure a look of high tech and medieval technology mixed together.  The articulation could be a liiiitle better.  I would have liked to see ball-joints on the hips, but other then that this works.

The problem I have is this figure is a bit scrawny.  Dr. Doom has always seemed like this biiiiiiiig, menacing, bulky looking dude in armor!  In this version... well, he's not small by any means, but the armor makes him look a little on the emaciated side.  Sigh.

Perks are awesome.  Doom comes with his usual side-arm pistol, which actually fits into the holster on his right side.  His cape is removable, as well as the faceplate to reveal Doom's mangled face.  AND the figure comes with a miniature turret so Dr. Doom can stand on it and look very regal as he gazes upon his subjects.

Homer factor is high on this guy.  Doom is one of the great villains in comics, and having him handled by Marvel Legends is an awesome chance to honor this figure.

ToyBiz didn't let us down.  Doom makes a great addition to your collection... and can lord-over the other villains in your collection.
