Prologue Elven Warrior - LOTR, The Fellowship of the Ring, ToyBiz
Meat and Potatoes; 5.0
Perks; 5.0
Homer Factor; 5.0
Description;  an Elvan warrior brought to life.

The Prologue Elven Warrior is a 6" gorgeous reproduction of the soldiers that appear in the prologue to 'Fellowship of the Ring'.  The figure has an abundance of articulation and is decked in the gold armor of the Elves during their golden age.

The piece comes with a sword, spear, shielf, bow, arrows, and a removable helm.
Ah, let the talk continue about 'The Hobbit'... and the haggling.  Sigh.  Nothing like having groups of people argue over who will get the biggest percentage of a potential $1 billion in movie revenue.  Well, that's the theory based upon the receipts from the 'LOTR' movies.  Personally, I don't NEED to see 'The Hobbit'.  ... still reading?  Yes, I said it.  Sure, it's a fun story, and Bilbo is a fun character to watch as he changes from comic relief to a decent thief, blah, blah, blah.  But what happened BEFORE 'The Hobbit'?  What about the First Age?  Where did Sauron come from?  Who are the Numenoreans? (Technically Aragorn isn't quite human.  Seriously.  See 'TTT, EE' as well as 'Weapons and Warfare'.)  Now THERE is a HUGE story.  Remember the battle at the base of Mt. Doom during the prologue of 'Fellowship'?  Aaaaaaaaahhhh... NOW you get it.

One of the great images from the prologue is seeing the massive army of Elves facing the Orc legions; giant swords slashing through an endless tide of the enemy, and that beautiful golden armor!  This scene didn't last very long, so there is no way ToyBiz would make a figure... right?  WRONG!  Hey, if 'Star Wars' could take a character like Boba Fett and turn him into an icon, ToyBiz could easily make a figure based upon the forces of Elves.  So is it worth it, seeing a figure that appears for about 10 minutes on screen?  Oh heck yeah!

Meat and potatoes... what more can you say about work this good for a figure that's less then $15? (And even LESS if you're lucky.  Some shops are putting out the older figures on SERIOUS discount to make room for new product if it's in the old, huuuuuuuuge packaging.)  Now you're wondering if this is worth it since there's already a
Haldir figure out.  Well the only way to get Haldir is in the boxed set, so it's DEFINITELY worth it just for less cost.  But the key thing this ISN'T just a re-paint of Haldir.  This is a totally new figure, in all gold armor, with a face-sculpt that looks a bit like Julian Lennon.  The figure also has MUCH better articulation then Haldir.

Perks?  Oh boy, this figure is armed to the teeth!  Short, spear, bows, arrows, and shield.  The quiver and helmet are both removable!  And like all of the outstanding accessories form this line, the weapons are as beautifully made as the figures themselves.  Not just plain stamping here, but nice sculpting and painting on each weapon.

Homer factor?  Since this figure is like the red-shirts in classic 'Star Trek' (Go on mission, die quickly and embarassingly) you wouldn't think so.  However, this isn't just another figure designed for cannon fodder; this is a figure of the Elves, at their peak, armed for battle against the forces of Mordor!

The end result is an awesome piece of work.  It's well sculpted and painted and has a TON of extras to keep you busy for quite a while.  This makes a perfect compliment to the other 'LOTR' figures on your shelf.  Good hunting!
