Roy's Toys Shelf
Description; Gundam, Bruce Lee style.

The figure is the standard 3 1/2" inches tall, typical gundam grey, white, red, and blue with yellow high-lights.  The piece has extra-large shoulder-pads and blue gauntlets.  Burning Gundam sports the usual great scupt with incredible articulation.

The figure comes with extra weapons and hands as usual.  However, a very neat additional perk is the core-fighter has expanding-wings that can mount an 'energy-ring' on the back of the Gundam figure.  This along with a pair of orange hands let the figure duplicate God Gundam's Hyper-mode.
Burning Gundame- G Gundam, Bandai
Meat and Potatoes; 5.0
Perks; 5.0
Homer Factor; 5.0
'G Gundam'... that has got to be THE craziest idea I have ever heard.  For those not in the know, this is the umpteenth incarnation of Gundam.  Set in the future, it's basically Gundam meets 'Enter the Dragon.'  Ok, ok, settle down, the Gundam Purist in the back.  That may be oversimplifying things, but that's what it looks like; it's set in the far future, the space colonies select Gundam Warriors to represent them in the legendary Gundam Fight, the winner controlling the government... or something along those lines.  .  Oh well, so what about the toys?  Good news, Bandai still has the touch in creating an amazing figure... even if the 'toon it's based on is bizarre.

Meat and potatoes are typical Gundam; veeeeeeeeeeery good. Tons and tons of articulation give you a multitude o' display possibilities.  And the sculpt has all the standard Gundam details; panel lines, vents, the works.  Oh, the figure is back to the usual 3" scale.  Woohoo.  As
I griped about on the Nu Gundam review, the bigger scale for the figure can mean to less detail in the sculpt.  Since Bandai's gone back to the 3" scale, all is right once more.

Perks are out of this world.  The piece comes with two beam katana, two inter-changeable shoulder cannons, MANY extra hands in assorted positions, the armored-core fighter that has wings and an 'energy ring' and extra hands made of clear orange plastic to duplicate the awesome 'Hyper mode.'  Whew.  Yes, LOTS of extra stuff.

Homer factor?  Also very high.  Ok, ok, so what's the big deal about ANOTHER Gundam figure?  Aren't they all the same?  WRONG.  The problem with multiple Batman/Spider-Man, et al figures is they tend to be created just to MAKE THEM.  Rarely is the figure based on an actual appearance in the comic or other story, it's just there for marketing purposes.  Granted, Bandai is in this for the money, but each figure fits within the context of the 'toon series, so each figure really is unique, offering something very, very special each time.  Maybe it's the fin-funnels of the RX-93, maybe it's expandable jet wings like Gundam Wing Zero, or in this case, the neat energy-ring and energy-hands of the hyper mode.  Sure, they're all Gundam, but they most certainly aren't just the SAME THING.

In a nut-shell, we have another rocking figure from Bandai to take up space on your shelf.  Killer sculpt and articulation and over-the-top extras make this figure very, very different from the multitude of other Gundam figures out there, and another great addition to your shelf.  Oh, there is one sliiiiiiiiiiiiiight problem with this line;  from what I've seen from websites on the 'toon, there are about 30 different Gundams which appear in the show... oh boy... clear up a LOT of room on your shelf.  Hehehehehehehehe.
