The Best of 2000
Ok, ok, so it's almost Feburary.  Cut me some slack here; football play-offs, recovering from New Years, real life takes it's toll on a person.  Anyway, considering the plethora o' year end lists, I thought I would jump in.

Best Toy of 2000; Super Fire Convoy, Transformers; Car Robots, Takara.  After years of dealing with ants, crabs, gorillas, and assorted other creepy-cralies, Takara finally went back to what Transformers fans have been screaming for; vehicles!  And they came back  with a vengence with
Super Fire Convoy.  The piece is loaded; multiple transformations, lots of detail, lighting effects, and it's HUGE.(almost 11" tall fully transformed.)  Big Bot, welcome back!!!!

Surprise Toy Line of the Year; Wrestling figures in general.  When these first came out, Hulk Hogan ruled the world, and the toys were.... well, they sucked.  The sculpts were lame,  paint was just slapped on,  the figures were basically lumps of plastic with a name slapped on.  With wrestling even more popular then before, the toys naturally came back.  But, rather then horrible blobs of plastic, the new figures featured very good sculpts, wonderful articulation, and even neat gimmics such as voice chips.

At Last!  The Toy of They Finally got Around to Making;
Dark Knight Detective Batman, Legends of the Dark Knight, Hasbro.  After years of suffering through umbrella lauching this or slime-throwing that, Habro FINALLY put out a simple Batman figure. The jet black costume, humonguous, billowing cape, the little snarl, and the over-all feel of a dark guardian of the night.

Quit Your Whining!  The Toy Line People Keep Complaining About; Wing Gundam, Bandai.  Enough already!!!  I keep reading reviews and comments from collectors and model makers to who keep dissing these figures.  'They're just like the models, so why bother.'  'The MSIA line is better because of the detail in the paint.'  Guess what, the models take about an hour out of my day that I rather use for other much more productive things, and the MSIA figures cost about $20.00 a pop.  The articulation is still some of THE finest one the market and the the accesories aren't bad either.

Licking Our Chops.  The Line We're Waiting For.  Spider-Man.  Ok, the movie is over a year away.  Nonetheless, you have to wonder what ToyBiz has in mind.  Alex Ross character designs mixed with the superb work of ToyBiz.  Ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh.
