Hey, it's NEVER to early to start, right? Ok, 'Pearl Harbor' looks cool, 'Shrek' looks hysterical, and 'The Mummy Returns' was a lot of fun. But come on, lets be honest here, NEXT YEAR is the year we're waiting for. Why, do you ask? HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You one of those who's watched 'My Dinner with Andre' 20 billions times and waiting for it to come out on DVD as a director's cut? Ok, here's just a few reasons why next summer is the one a ton o' folks drooling.....
1. Star Wars- Episode 2; do we get to see more bad-ass Jedi fights? Do we get to see Anakin score with Amidala? Do we FINALLY see Boba Fett without a helmet and say more then 7 words at a time? DO WE SEE JAR JAR BINKS GET HIT BY A BUS? Stay tuned.
2. The Matrix 2 and 3; Bad news, Jet Li was too expensive to get. Good news, EVERYBODY ELSE IS BACK. Hey Mr. Lucas, you wanna impress us with Jedi fights? Remember 'The Matrix.' And now the Wawshawski's have even MORE money to play with. Hehehehehehehehehehehehehe.
3. Spider-Man; After years, and years, and years of horrible comic translations (Remember 'Capt America?' Look for the reeeeeeeeeeeeal dusty VHS box at your local video shop.), Marvel is striking gold; 'Blade' did well, 'X-Men' much better, and now the director who brought Hercules back to life on tv gets to breath life into one of the greatest super-hero characters ever.
4. The Mystery Horror Flick; Two years ago, 'The Sixth Sense' came out and scared us and made Hollywood prononce M. Night Shaylaman's name right. Last year, 'What Lies Beneath' brought Harrison Ford's presence back to the silver screen. Both came out late in the season, and both scared us. So next year, in a summer full of 'sure things'(hmmmmmmm... wasn't 'Wild, Wild West' a sure thing?) there's a horror flick with some great actors, terrific stories, that will sneak up on all of us.
