Yes, Toy Fair is a lot of fun; so many new possiblities, so many things to look forward to. However, there is ALSO the problem of looking around... looking around... looking... and then going 'huh?' One of the worst parts of Toy Fair wondering about what stuff they DIDN'T talk about.
1. NEW Batman stuff; Ok, ok, so it's very sound, financially, to bust-out repaints of figures. Fine, BUT YOU HAVE A MARKET FOR FANS WHO ARE LOOKING FOR NEW BATMAN PRODUCT. Imagine if you got your hands on a 5" re-sculpt of Batman and Robin, a'la the 'GI Joe' figures? Oh, the possibilities, folks.
2. 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon;' Loved the first series... um... guys... WHERE IS THE REST???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!! The set just doesn't look right without a Jade Fox figure around.
3. Other Marvel Lines; Yes, the 'Legends' line looks awesome, but could we have a bit more?
4. What Happened to N2Toys; First, great stuff like 'The Matrix,' 'Road Warrior.' Now, 'The Fifth Element' and the other 'The Matrix Figures' canceled, and the big pushes are for 'The Tick' and 'Big Trouble in Little China?' Granted, not horrible by any means, but considering with what they started with, I hope this isn't the sign of bad news ahead...
