	GOTTA love the summer; movies, sunny weather, AND CONVENTIONS OUTTA YOUR EARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  One of THE place to be was the San Diego Comic Convention.  A few days of shopping, panels, and general fan-dom.  Hehehehehehehehe. Unfortunately, there isn't as much 'Oh my lord!!!!!!!' news as you would see at, say, the NY Toy Fair, but still lots o' neat stuff to oogle at.  Figures.com has an amazing spread on the convention, but here are a few high-lights.  DC Direct; Um... Marvel... um, y'all awake over there?  An amazing sample o' new stuff from DC Direct.  Unfortunately, we've been hearing announcements about this stuff constantly, but we can finally see the finished product just before it appears in stores.  The GL Corp figures and the AWESOME Silver Age Superman and Lois two-pack were on display.  Also some nice surprises, such as the Shazam/Black Adam two-pack.  ToyBiz; Ok... you ARE awake over there.  Marvel counters with a ton o' super-detailed, butt-kicking articulated figures for Spidey, as well as putting out the Marvel Legends Line.  Ah, no more 'X-Men' figures.  Thank you, thank you. Art Asylum; One of the best side-effects of the collector's market is that lisenses you KNEW were cool, but weren't marketing friendly, i.e. you couldn't stick it on a lunch-box so don't bother, are coming out in force.  Case in point, 'The Matrix.'  Hey, you WANTED a Neo figure, didn't you?  Well, Art Asylum continues this trend with 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.'  Prototypes are out and look waaaaaaay cool. Mattel; Ah, nostalgia.  ...ok, I'm gonna get in trouble here.... I never had He-Man figures.  Hey, I watched the cartoon like everyone else, but never got into the figures.  Re-issue.  Whatever.  Well, Mattel jumped on the re-sculpt band-wagon and uncorked a ton o' VERY nice new figures for a re-birth of the He-Man line.  The principles are there; He-Man, Skeletor, et al.  HOWEVER, all are sporting gorgeous, mega-detailed sculpts, tons of accessories, and basically kick serious butt.  Ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
