32. Did your family have a favorite meal or recipe? Could you share the recipe with us?

When I was a kid I loved when my family made crispy tacos. I also loved
when grandma Harris started making cherry torte for us when we came to visit
her. I have continued to make it for my sisters and family when we get
together. My daughter loves a dish that I made alot in Texas called TexMex
Stew.

TexMex Stew
Recipe:
In a large dutch oven pot heat 2 tablespoons of oil with 2 cloves of garlic.
Add in 2lbs of ground beef. Cook until browned. Drain fat from pot. Mix
in pot with beef 2 cans of diced tomatoes with their juices, 1cup salsa,
1teaspoon cumin, 1cup green onions chopped, 1/2 cup cilantro chopped. Bring
to a boil and then reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Add
in 1 drained can of corn and 1 drained can of black beans. Bring to a boil
and then reduce heat to simmer for 5 more minutes. To serve place in
idividual bowls, top with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream. Serve
with tortilla chips and additional salsa for added taste.

33. Do you have a family heirloom? What is it and what will you do with it?

My Grandmother Alice Harris gave me some of her wedding dishes that she stilled had. I am afraid to use them often because there are only the dessert dishes that she gave me and I don't want any thing to happen to them. I also have a rocking chair that I received for my first Christmas that I have passed on to my children.

My favorite color is blue.

36. Who gave you your name and why? Did you have a nickname? How did you get it?

My mom wanted to name me Jennifer and my real dad wanted my name to be Jenny. My mom calls me Jen-Jen which grandma Harris started calling me when I was a baby.
