				Lions Clubs around the world have long been known for their assistance with eye conservation programs.  Here at the Saginaw Downtown Lions Club, we participate in these programs on local, state and international levels. A key service we provide is funding eye examinations and eyeglasses.  This important program allows for free eye screenings and eyeglass to individuals who cannot afford the cost of these services.  This service is only possible through donations made to our White Cane Fund Drive, which occurs every spring.  All funds raised during White Cane represents our yearly budget for the eye screening and eyeglass program. Due to the limited resourses of the program, applicants must meet various criteria, including, residency, income and more. In addition to the donations made into our White Cane Fund Drive, this program would not be possible without the cooperation with our friends at the Special Needs Vision Clinic in nearby Bridgeport, Michigan.  The professionals and staff at the clinic are dedicated to assisting those in need.
