The Relationship of neptuneuranus
Here it is everybody, the part that you've all been looking for...
Welcome to the Truth about SailorNeptune/Michiru/Michelle and Sailoruranus/Haruka/Amara's relationship.

For those of you who are new  Bishjoujo Senshi Sailormoon  fans, or even for the older fans who never quite new the answer, this small section revolves around a single question:
Are Michiru/Sailor Neptune and Haruka/Sailor Uranus lesbians, homosexuals, whatever?
This section is meant to give you the facts, no sugar-coating. If you are a younger fan, or just not quite ready to deal with the reality of this relationship, then perhaps you should not be hanging aroudn this site at all. But if you do want to know, here it is.

As you all know, or could probably discover rather quickly on my site, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus are my two most favorite characters on the entire show (excluding Sailormoon and Sailorsaturn, of course). Watch one episode with them in it and you are struck right away with their loyalty, willingness, bravery, and most of all, their... togetherness. They seem to rely solely on one another, and are independent of all the other sailor senshi until much, much later in the series, once they have officially become "part of the team." After watching a few episodes with them, I noticed more and more how they stuck together, were never apart - they seemed to compliment each other in every way, be it their respective Planets, their personalities, or even their looks.

On one of my trips to local Sailor Moon sites, I discovered one that talked about Michiru and Haruka being lesbians. I found more and more articles on this search, including one about a "Prince Haruka" (which is not true) and came to the conclusion that they are definitely more than just friends. I mean, no duh, people. One of the reasons the show is for older fans is because of the subtle sexual innuendo in the dialogue between Michiru and Haruka, which is even noticed by the characters in the show, namely Usagi.  It was even said by the creator of Sailor Moon that yes, they have a sexual relationship.
But of course, I don't care in the least bit that they are lesbians. I Repeat: I
JAPANESE VERSION THEY ARE LESBIANS. Everyone has their own choices to make, and if they made that one, its okay with me. And I don't put anything against them for being the way they are. They are still my two favorite characters, and I love them. And by the way, for someone who mentioned this: fuck tolerance. I accept them.
Original Japanese Version/ Manga
Dubbed Version
Okay. Pardon my French. Now, we have the "Truth" according to the Dub version of the show that has aired on Cartoon Network, and has been released in dubbed format onto VHS and DVD.  Before I begin this section, I would like you to forgive me for any mistakes. I do not have cable, and have purchased none of the dub videotapes/DVDs after those from the first season,  therefore all the information I get is passed on by word of mouth and information on the Internet.
In the Cloverway/Pioneer dub, the names are as follows- Michiru: Michelle and Haruka: Amara. In the Dub they are more then just friends, but that is not because they are lovers. They are closer than friends because they are cousins. I Repeat:
IN THE DUB VERSION THEY ARE COUSINS.

What a joke. Cousins that sleep together. Right. And I can fly. I really hate that the dubbers did this to them. In Japan's anime and manga, yaoi/shonen ai (boy-boy love) and yuri/shoujo ai (girl-girl love) are respected just as much as a "normal" relationship. Of course, nowadays, you can find yuri and yaoi in the manga/anime releases in America, such as FAKE, and Gravitation. Go us! We are finally getting somewhere, become a bit more accepting.

But still, I personally think that it is amazing that the dubbers feel that they need to do these things, such as change Zoisite to a girl, Fish-eyes to a girl, and, of course, make Haruka and Michiru cousins. The show, in Japan, is supposed to be themed toward older girls, such as those who are twelve and up, not like the dub version, which is for five to eight year olds! In my opinion, they should translate the show and keep it in it's original state, while posting a warning that it is for older (twelve and up) people. But companies have to stay in business, I suppose, and catering to younger children is the way to go. Well, I'm getting off the subject aren't I?
