END OF CAREER

SAPIER

From 1939 to 1942, Father Fafard, was still active in the ministry. He stayed briefly at the closed retreat house in Hull. Then, he went to the one in Rouyn. After that, he became chaplain for the nuns in Outremont. In the Fall of 1939, he went to closed retreats house in Cap-de- la-Madeleine, where he stayed until 1942. He then received his last obedience for the house in Rougemont.

In 1945, the Oblate Community celebrated with"Saapeeay" his sisty years of priesthood. A few months later, his family did the same. These were moments of intense emotion for the "old"missionary!
