| 26-10-03, visit to Devon with my friend Matt, it was a long journey, just to see a very dusty car in a shed... But under the dirt was a pristine example, I left a deposit and returned a week later with the trailer kindly driven by my neighbour Bob, and my mum! |
| When we got the shell home, most of the work was to prepare a work area (clearing out the garage and making a workshop in the shed). The car finaly got into the garage on 02-01-04, below: |

| So the next challenge was to find another 16v lump. But finding one with less than 80,000 on the clock turned out to be a right nightmare! I'd phoned almost every advert i saw and sent numerous emails, but was having no joy... just when a stroke of luck came my way... Matt had spoken to his mate John, who had a C20LET sitting around in his garage waiting to go into a car which he was yet to find... He needed the space, so i bought it off him... and a week later with Bobs handy Peugeot-estate and 4 of my mates, we got the turbo lump home too! |

| Now that I had a decent bodyshell, I had to start looking for an engine... One thought was to use my current 16v GTE as a donor car, but it was to good for that and i'd spent faaaarrr too much money on it! |
