This is just a little something that I knocked up to try to provoke a response out of Adam. As he had already written a Chapter of this that was quite different. Adam resolved this problem by ignoring the entire thing and thus stealing my thunder. No one appreciates my brillance...
This article was published in Entropy* in 1999. I have quite strong views about freedom of speech and expression. In this article I discuss censorship in Australia.
In 1996 I met some sex workers socially for the first time. After speaking with them I became convinced that a prohibition model of sex work law is not particularly beneficial for anyone. At the time a sex work reform bill was going before the South Australian Parliament (it was defeated), and so I wrote this article. Interestingly enough a woman from SIN (Sex Industry Network) at the time didn't like this article and ordered me not to write anymore. My attitudes are now slightly different, but the same in essence. At present in 2000 there is a new move in Parliament for sex work law reform.
In 1999, as a bit of a laugh, I convinced a group of friends and accquaintances to form The Stupid Hat Party and all run for President in the USASA Elections. It was quite a bit of fun! It also has the distinction of being the only joke campaign run in USASA's history. Here is a copy of a flyer we were handing out.
Here are the spiels from the election broadsheet in the USASA election. Myself and Keiron sat down and wrote these, and just about killed ourselves laughing during the writing. Not all of these got into the broadsheet though, as several people withdrew following phone calls from the Returning Officer.
This is an article published in Entropy* in 1997. Basically I wrote this article as closure after I had had a falling out with an old girlfriend a couple of years before. Writing this article was a way for me to get rid of left over feelings of hurt and betrayal. Once the article was published I felt that the matter was closed. Unfortunately a few months later I recieved a quite disjointed letter from the woman in question having a go at me about the article. I actually got quite angry about that, as I had regarded it as "Case Closed", and didn't appreciate hearing from her again. I still stand by this article though.

This is an article that was published in Entropy* in 1995. This basically deals with the issue of Hate Crimes against the Queer Community. This is an early article, but it's still pretty relevant. I'd probably write something a little different today, but I still think that it's a useful article.
