| The Saluki Club of WA was formed at a gathering of breed enthusiasts at a summer BBQ in February 1977. The first official minuted meeting was held in March 1977. Initially a Social Club, the concept grew and in 1987 we became afilliated with our state governing body (The Canine Association of WA, aka: CAWA) and were then able to run our own breed championship shows. |

| The Club logo was designed by David Farr & adopted in 1978. The club logo is the registered property of the Saluki Club of Western Australia (Inc). The Club "colours" of brown and gold were also decided upon, at that time. Into the new millenium, the club colours have been adapted to Maroon and Cream for all show ribbons. The concept of this website, for breed historical purposes purporting to Western Australia, was envisioned by the inaugural president of the club, and is founding webmistress Mandy Manley Smith farousi@bigpond.com * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The Club motto has always been "Preservation, not desecration" |
