What attracted you to the part of Betsy Kline in 'The Chester Story'? I was really drawn to Betsy's sense of responsibility to her family. I felt that her role as caretaker for her mother was not purely an obligation, but something in which she took pride. She may have temporarily put her own dreams and aspirations aside, but not to the detriment of her being. She truly cherishes her family, adores her older brothers, and wants so much for everyone to get along. It hurts her so much when James and Ray fight because at long last the three siblings are all together, and she years for the times when things were simpler. Betsy is a very honorable woman, and I admired her huge heart and iron strength. What sort of experience was it filming on location in Wilmington? I absolutlely fell in love with Wilmington! I stayed in a little place downtown, which I adored. I enjoyed the great restaurants, fun shops, nice people, and the gorgeous North Carolina beaches! I hope I get the opportunity to work there again. Who did you hang around on-set with during production? Luckily I got to hang out with most of the cast during the shoot. I saw most of Rob (Ray) because he was staying right next door, so I would run into him at the coffee shop. What projects are you currently working on? I just finished working on a film called "Jesus, Mary, and Joey" starring Marley Shelton, Olympia Dukakis, and Jennifer Esposito. I also continue to make regular appearances on "The Late Show with David Letterman" What was it like working with costars Robert Treveiler and Teri Hatcher? Rob and Teri are both fantastic people and great actors, and I would love to work with both of them again. Tell us about working with Director/Writer Rebecca Bagley... This was my second time to work with the extremely talented Rebecca Bagley. She is such a soulful writer and effective director, and it was a pleasure to work with her again! The Chester Story has been bought by a US distributer and is going to be released theatrically. How do you think it will be recieved? I hope very well! What do you think audiences will get out of this film? I think this is a film about what really matters in life. The people and relationships we choose to make time for or not. I think if this film makes someone feel, whatever that feeling may be: regret, joy, compassion ---If we are feeling, we are alive, and that's a good thing. |
