Horses and Ponies and foals - Oh MY!

Okay, so I'm a horse nut.  I admit it  My dad swears I said horse before I said Mamma.  I have devoted my life to the study of the horse, from breeds to showing to training to genetics to just plain lovin' em.  We currently have three horses (affectionately known as "the Ponies") right now. Myryha the Wind (yes the daughter is named after the horse) is a 22 yr old Mustang mare.  Crackers is also 22, and he too is a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Mustang.  Our newest addition is NOT a pony, but a grade Percheron Draft Mare named Empress Molly Rose.  Scroll down to meet them and to see our tribute to our ponies passed.

our Grand dame - Myryha the Wind.  She's coming 23 this year.  She's a strawberry roan - this winter photo doesn't show her color well.  She was quite a lovely girl in her younger years (her back has dropped this last year).  She is a BLM Mustang, from the Nightengale Range in Nevada.  We have had since she was 16 months old.

Crackers is also a BLM Mustang, foaled in 1980, which also makes him coming 23 this year.  He is a few months younger than Myryha the Wind.  We have know Crackers since he was first adopted, at 10 months old.  We helped in his initial breaking and training with a local family.  About 10 years ago, he came to live with us when his owner went off to college and asked us to give him a good him.  He was a handy little hunter pony in his younger years, and is a good pony for Myryha (our daughter) to work with.
