The Countryside
While the big city looks prosperous, poverty can be found in the nearby hillsides and mountains.  People in these areas have little or no access to healthcare.
A river in the countryside of the Dominican Republic.
An overlook of the area that we will be traveling into to bring medical care to those who most need it.
Like most other third world countries, the people work as subsistence farmers.   They usually have barely enough to feed themselves. If the crops are good that year they can take some of their extra to sell for other needed items for their families.
Another overlook of the Dominican countryside with the mountains in the distance!  It is a beautiful country from the hillsides to the beaches!
