Our "Ship Model Exposition" in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada on the first weekend of October 2002 sponsored by the Saint John Marine Modelers Association and the New Brunswick Museam in Market Square, Saint John was another success! Everyone involved was very keen on a repeat of this event for next year, so keep this site bookmarked for more on that later this year. More on the October, 2002 event.... Events Friday - Set up and Registration went very well with lots of help from fellow modelers with the unloading and setting up of models. Saturday - Registration continued in the morning. The Honourable Mayor Shirly MacAlery came and officially opened the show a little later on. - There was a dinner held at Keystone Kelly's, Market Square. Almost everyone was there with their wives, and all enjoyed the chance to talk, joke and relate stories to fellow marine modelers. I'd like to take the time to thank the New Brunswick Museam and staff for providing the great facilities and co-operation, our Mayor for opening the show and taking the time to tour the display, Al Sophet of the Saint John Port Authority, Local Historian Harold Wright, our fellow Marine Modelers from away, who helped to make the show as diverse and exciting as possible and of course all the members of the Saint John Marine Modelers, especially our president John Weeks without whom I sincerly believe there would have not been a model expo at all. So here's to next year's show! Hope to see you there! |
