Steve sat on a balance beam, now fixed above the ground on a clay challenge field.

"Hello Survivors, we figured we would test your balance one more time, but add another element to it.  For this challenge, you get to throw tethered balls at each other attempting to elimate everyone on the other tribe.  Get the idea?"

"Take your beams!"

The tribes took the beams, eager to take out frustration on the other tribe.  The
first round was wild, and people easily dodged the flying balls.

The
second round claimed the first victim.  A ball hit Andi in her shoulder, pushing her off her balance, and off of the beam.

She wiped the dirt off of her knees and made her way to the sideline.

In the
third round, Peuco lost another member, with Luke falling off of the beam.

He sat down, next to Andi on the sidelines, beginning to get nervous as his tribe was falling behind.

In the
fourth round, Peuco struck back, knocking Travis into the dirt.

In
round five, the dancer Nichole made a good attempt at balance after a direct hit, but couldn't
quite stay on, and had to jump off.  Also,
Marie, on Auca Pan was knocked off.  Three people
had fallen for Peuco, and two had fallen for Auca Pan.  The losing tribe had their first lead.

In
round six, the pegging was leveled, as Jacob was knocked off.  Both tribes saw immunity in
their grasp, and wanted it.

In
round seven, Dave was knocked off, leaving only two Peuco members throwing against three
Auca Pan members.

In
round eight, Adam was knocked off, leaving Andrew the sole Peuco member.  With the odds
against him, Andrew managed to take
Chad out in the ninth round, but not without being taken out himself.

With that, Steve shouted, "AUCA PAN! Your first immunity!"

The six member tribe erupted in winning another challenge and ran towards the small idol of
Ahayuta Achi, putting their hands on it, glad for a few more days.

--

Back at
Peuco's camp, nerves were running high with their first tribal council date looming.  Everyone was aware of the stakes and no one wanted to go.

Andrew, still nervous, and paranoid went up to Nichole a few minutes before tribal council, talking about the immunity challenge, which it looked like he could have lost for his tribe.

"I really tried," he began.

A sympathetic Nichole explained it was "only luck" and it wasn't his fault.  While her words didn't ease him, he was very nervous about the upcoming vote, and was hoping that he could survive it.

Steve watched all eight members enter the tribal council arena, solemn faced and nervous.  They put their torches in the fire and sat, some looking around, gazing at the beautiful scenery which drastically contrasted the horrible mood and setting.

"Andrew, how did it feel being the last person on that beam?  Do you feel guilty?"

"Of course, but people have assured me that it wasn't my fault, and I did well.  I can only hope they mean that."

"Anyone in the camp showing themselves to be a leader?"

Luke spoke up.  "Dave is a really nice guy, and a good leader.  I think it is obvious we have him for a leader."

"Is this decision difficult?"

"Yes, and no," said
Andi.  "We have people who are pulling the team down."

"Valerie, do you think you are participating as much as you should?"

"Well, I am participating as much as I can.  I have been sick and stuff, but I think I'm doing my part, more than others are," she finished.

"Well, after the vote, a twist will be revealed, that Auca Pan learned six days ago.  With that, it's time to vote."

Andrew made his way to the voting confessional and wrote VALERIE down in small block letters.

"She has done very little to help.  You are nice enough, but it's a little too little, too late."

Next Andi went up, voted, and returned to her seat.

Luke went up next.

"I promised Valerie, I wouldn't vote for her, so I'm voting for Andrew."

Valerie went up next, writing down ANDREW"To save myself, you must go.  Sorry."

The rest of the tribe voted, one by one, and soon, the votes were tallied.

Steve retrieved the urn and looked upon the tribe.

"Once the votes are tallied, the votes are final.  However, the person will not leave immediately.  I'll explain that to you, soon."

First vote...

ANDREW

Andrew's forehead was beaded with sweat.  He was expecting a few, but how many?

Second vote...

ANDREW

Fear of being the first ran through his mind.

VALERIE

Valerie nodded, also expecting votes.

VALERIE

Next vote...

VALERIE

As it stands, that's three votes Valerie, two votes Andrew.

Valerie put her finger nervously in her mouth.

Next vote...

VALERIE.

Valerie leaned back, knowing that one more would be it.

"That's four votes Valerie, two votes Andrew."

Next vote..

Valerie hoped "and the third person" wouldn't come out of Steve's mouth.

But it did.

"And the third person, voted out of Argentina, is...

Valerie."

"Valerie, as you know, you have not made the jury.  But, you have an unique chance to change this game.  You may give one person, immunity at the next tribal council."

Valerie was visibly hurt, and choked a bit while saying Luke, because he was most honest with her.

Valerie's torch was snuffed, and she made her way out of the arena.

"Well, you have made it past your first tribal council, at the expense of someone else.  That's how the game goes.  See you tomorrow."

FINAL VOTE TALLY:
LISA: VALERIE
ANDI: VALERIE
ANDREW: VALERIE
VALERIE: ANDREW
LUKE: ANDREW
DAVE: VALERIE
NICHOLE: VALERIE
ADAM: VALERIE
