At the Peuco camp, Andrew awoke feeling very split. He had survived tribal council, but someone still here had voted for him. He looked around the camp wearily during the early morning hours and forced himself to try not to think about it. They had a reward challenge later to try to focus on. The morning after Tribal council, David and Nichole found themselves alone and began to talk about the twist they had found out at last night's tribal council. "That will certainly make things interesting. What a way to push the political aspect of the game up a few weeks," Dave began. "I was really shocked when she could give someone immunity, and I initially thought it would be Lisa, since you know, Lisa probably voted for Andrew with Valerie," Nichole added. "It's annoying, too. It means we can't go after Luke yet," Dave began, "But that's ok, according to his pecking order, Lisa goes next anyway." Luke meanwhile thought back to the conversation he and Andrew had shortly after Tribal Council. "I was blown away that she gave me immunity, I think she felt Lisa turned on her," Luke began. "By the way, though, I think that Lisa should go next." "I actually heard that until I got immunity, Dave was going to go after me," Luke explained. "Really?" Andrew said. "Yeah, Nichole told me that. Would you have a serious problem voting Dave out?" Luke asked. "Well, yeah," Andrew began. "He is a strong player." "I guess I just don't trust him Andrew," Luke went on. "We are too much alike, we butt heads. But...Lisa can go first, to appease you." Andrew thanked Luke, but both players left with alot more aspect on where people stood. Later, Luke brough the conversation up with Nichole and Andi. "It really lead me to believe that Andrew and Dave have an alliance," Luke said, "And honestly, I want Dave out. Do I have your support? And, do you think that we can trust Adam to go after Dave with us, or should we eliminate Lisa and then take Dave down? Personally, I would prefer to go Dave now before it is too late." "David told me that he didn't want to be tied down with Andrew," Nichole began. "So I don't know about being in an alliance with him, and he is alos really against lying. I do want Dave gone too though, but he is active, so I don't know." "It's an alpha male thing," Andi explained. "David doesn't like to have another alpha male in the group, and neither do you Luke. He is a strong player, so it's hard to make a call as to voting him out, because we have a better chance at winning immunity challenges with him there." Later in the day, Luke confessed about his want to get David gone. "I do want Dave gone, since he is such a huge threat when we get to the merge. I understand that he is a tribal asset, so I think I'm going to propose a plan dealing with our immunity challenge wins. If we win the next, we are guareenteed to at least tie at the merge. Then we can vote Dave off at a following tribal council. If we lose the next immunity, we could vote Lisa off, and give Dave one past vote, in case we go back to tribal council and we don't have enough votes to get him out, just enough to tie. I love that Valerie ruined Dave's plan of ousting me next. But that's OK, if the boy wants to get off the porch, the big dogs are gonna run over him. I know he has a possible alliance with Lisa and with Andrew maybe even with Adam, but he thinks he can string me along. He thinks he has me under "control" but he doesn't. Watch as I will use him to eliminate Lisa next (or possibly go straight for him) and then it will be just the six of us: my puppets and his. And then even if Andrew and Adam are in his pocket my three will beat his three. Why? Will my three win the tiebreaker, becuase come hell or high water Dave's name comes up at next tribal council! I hope I can keep my word to Andrew I am starting to like him more and more as time goes by and I really want him in final four, but if he is agianst me that is of his own deciding. And I wash my hands of his blood. Adam is iffy we will see how well he follows orders. If he betrays me he will falter too. Dave, poor, poor Dave; when you call out the man, you better be ready for a fight, and you, my friend, were not ready. Future reference don't call someone out while they wear an immunity necklace, not good: my friend, my advisory, my nemesis. I like you and if i don't win I cheer for you since you are the best player. Andi and Nichole; I assume one of my puppets will turn on me and I will be gone. The only question is which. I bet on Andi, but Nichole has the spirit to be ruthless and go for the win too. And finally, Lisa. You must go unless you happen to come to me with an Anti-Dave plan, then maybe you can save yourself." Early in the afternoon, Lisa came back to camp carrying a dish, with writing on it. Everyone crowded around as she read about the reward challenge, which promised possibly food, and all of them were eager. |
The tenth day in Argentina began as the rest had. The fog, lighter today than normal, rolled in from the cool lake, and the now thirteen survivors woke and began to stir, their tedious roles waiting to be completed. At Auca Pan, Marie was one of the early stirrers, but before beginning no any chores, went to the lake to wash a bit and wake up. "Nothing has been going on in camp, compared to what it was like when Hadley was here. I'm beginning to feel more and more uneasy with my alliance with John and Jacob, and I feel more and more excluded, as if I'll be targetted soon," Marie explained. "We recognize we are still the weaker tribe and have alot of building up to do." Travis was up next, still on the morale high from his personal victory in the previous challenge. He made his way to Marie for an early morning game chat, seeing where things stood. He sat on the sandy shore, and struck up a conversation. "So, Marie, What's the alliance situation here?" he began, abruptly. Marie looked at him wearily for a moment, and didn't bite completely. "I don't really know, I mean, some people are more active than others, but I don't think that is a sign of anything - on this tribe at least." "This may be a stab in the dark," Travis began, "but my guess is that you, Josie, and John have an alliance." Marie laughed a bit, and responded. "I can honestly say no, and I'll take a stab back. Josie, you and chad are in one?" Travis rubbed his chin suspiciously, and responded as Marie did. "I can honestly say no." "So are either of us in alliances?" Marie added with a humoured tone. "Maybe not," he said back. "But, I still think you are. And, if I was guessing the pecking order...I would say that Chad was the next to go until he got immunity. Then I was going to be next...so that bumps me up to next." "I honestly don't know of any pecking order at all," Marie said back. "If there were, you wouldn't be at the bottom, at least for me. You don't deserve to go." Travis expressed his thanks nonverbally, but Marie followed up with another question. "You don't have to answer this, but did anyone approach you for an alliance?" she asked. "Can I take the fifth?" Travis responded after a moment. "Yeah...I asked because I was going to ask something else," she explained. "Offering an alliance?" Travis asked. "No..." Marie paused for a minute as if weighing whether or not to say anything, "Someone...and I'm not mentioning names, asked me for an alliance with you, me, this person and one other." "Well, from what I'm gathering, if someone asked you for a four person alliance, the person is either full of ----, or no one truly has any alliances going on. And...I'm guessing the former is true. Well, probably both," Travis concluded, adding a laugh. Later, Travis talked about his talk with Marie. "Well, I got a whole lot of nothing from her this morning. Basically, I know she is in an alliance, because if she wasn't, she wouldn't be so hesitant to reveal her information. Then again, I'm not in any alliances and I didn't reveal much either, though I probably did give the impression that I'm pretty much lost in playing this game." "The most interesting thing I got out of the convo was Marie stating that someone approached her asking for a four person alliance with her and another person. So, I now know that someone else has no strategy and that there is probably a three or four person alliance floating around out here. And judging from Marie's initial reaction when she said that my guess was honestly wrong, I'm thinking that she is either a liar or that she has no alliance either." "My guess? John, Josie, and Jacob have an alliance, and Marie is on the fringe. What amuses me is that I have put myself into a position in which I could very easily be played, and yet nobody has tried to do that. Do they think that I have an alliance? If so, then the opposing alliance can't be more than four people large," he finished. John scratched his insect bitten legs near the fire place looking towards the water to Marie and Travis talking. Jacob, Marie, and himself were in an alliance and he was beginning to feel nervous about his position. "Chad should be the next to go, because he isn't putting in as much effort as I wish he would be. Like, I try talking to him, and he just has one word answers. He really needs to be a little more active, and actually talk, or else he will be getting my vote," he explained. "I am feeling vulnerable, and I really wish Chad, didn't have immunity at our next tribal council." Jacob was hoping for breakfast, but of course, when he woke, he found none. He looked to John sitting by the fire, and go up to talk to him. "Hi Jacob," John initiated. "Hi." A small pause insued. John was getting a bit uncomfortable, so he tried to get the reason behind the awkwardness. "What is with the quietness?" John asked, "Are you mad at me? I don't think you like me anymore." "No...I'm not upset at you. I'm just really tired of all this. I think I have a tick..." Jacob went to showing him the possible tick and red sore around the bite. "I think that Jacob and I do not talk when we both have the opportunity to. Maybe we were not meant to be friends, but we are in an alliance, and alliance must stick together, no matter what," John explained later in the day. After everyone had woken up, the day progressed slowly. At the fire, Jacob began to sing. "Do re mi fa so la ti do, do a deer, a female deer. Re, a drop, of golden sun, Mi..." Travis looked at Jacob as if he were insane, and sat beside him trying to both interupt the singing and talk about the game. "Hey...Jacob, how's the game going?" Travis said. "Mi, a name, I call Jacob; fa, a long long way to run; so, a note to follow rala, the postal abbreviation for Louisianati, a letter after s" Travis gaped at Jacob. "I've been trying to guess who has an alliance with who," Travis insisted. "Ok. Oh, I have to sneeze," Jacob said, covering his nose. "Hey, what sign are you?" "A Leo." "I'm a Libra, watch me...balance stuff!" Jacob went on. "Speaking of balancing...are you balancing any alliances?" Travis tried again. After no response, he tried, "How's your alliance situation?" Jacob looked at Travis seriously. "I'll be in an alliance with you if you say 'please.'" "Woah, I'm not offering anything! I'm just asking if you're in any alliances," Travis said shocked at where Jacob got an alliance offer from. "That doesn't sound much like please to me." Travis let out a frustrated sigh and fell backwards into the moss. "Ugh," he moaned, "Lunch is calling me." "Lunch says: Travis, eat me," Jacob mocked. "Ok, Jacob. Here is what I want you to do. I'll throw a name out and you'll tell me if they're in an alliance. Ok?" Travis prompted. "Chole." "Not here! My turn," Jacob said. "Betty!" "Um...." Travis looked at Jacob with an odd stare. "How about Hadley," he asked. "She's out. Hm...Christina Aguilera!" Jacob asked back. "How about...Jacob?" "That's me!" "This is going no where," Travis said frustrated, got up, and walked away. |

Steve stood at a podium facing seven others. Both tribes saw the layout, and those who had seen the weakest link knew what was in store. "Hello Survivors," Steve began. "Today, we are going to offer you money, for some of the foods that you have been craving. However, there is also another side to this challenge. The winner of the game, will win immunity at the next tribal council they attend. However, to win it, it requires that you vote people off, and that may hurt your strategy. So, Peuco, any takers?" Dave, Luke, and Nichole chose to participate. For Auca Pan, only Travis and Marie. "Peuco, you will go first." The questions began with some of the following: Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest moutnain in Africa, but what country is it in? Within two pounds, how much does a bowling ball weight? In computing, what does CPU represent? At the end of the first round the only banked five dollars towards food, and David was voted out in a David, David, Nichole vote. In the next round, Luke and Nichole did much better ending up with a bank of 135 dollars. In the final round, Luke and Nichole tied 2-2, so they moved into a deadlock final round where Luke ended up winning another immunity, meaning he would be immune at the next two tribal councils. Auca Pan's attempt at reward only added 60 dollars and Travis beat Marie getting immunity. With the money, the tribes ordered meat, some things they were craving, and both reveled in the enjoyment of nutrition. Back at Peuco, Dave was definatly unhappy about Luke being immune for the next two tribal councils. He paddeled out with Nichole into the lake and fumed very openly about his opinions. "That really pissed me off today. But, I mean, I can't do anything about it I guess. I'm thinking we should just go with his voting order, unless you want to start mixing his game up?" Dave asked. "I don't know, we'll have to talk about that, and who we can trust," Nichole answered. "I think I can trust Andi," Dave noted. "Unless Luke gets to her?" she asked. "I don't think he has, she had expressed as much "strange behavior of Luke's as I have," he hoped. "And Andrew isn't with him?" Nichole asked. "I don't think so," Dave trailed off. "Did you tell him some of the things I've been telling you?" he asked after a moment. "Oh my god! No way, is that what you think I've been doing?" she asked frantically. "No, but Luke told me that he "didn't trust some people now" earlier, and that just struck me as odd," he said. "I really want to trust you Nichole, straight up," he continued. "Well," she said, "you can." "Good, I will continue to do so then," he said. Nichole spoke about her conversation with David later, commenting that she hated lying, this much, with a little shrug. Nichole however didn't have complete trust in Luke either, and sometimes questioned whether she was getting the truth from him. "It basically came out that Luke was the other person who voted for Andrew, and Luke was 'hoping that I wasn't mad.' I know it was playing for him, and it was smart of him. But I shouldn't have talked to her, then she wouldn't have thought I was lying to her," Nichole commented about Luke and Valerie later in the day. The next day, both tribes were awoken abruptly by production crew for an immunity challenge at daybreak. |
