The wisdom and self-sacrifice of Ben Karoke, senior member of the Java Council, is mythical. His words carry great weight. A diplomat in nature Karoke believes in the power of words over actions
In a long and adventurous career, Ben has repeatedly risked his life to resolve great conflicts in fairness to both parties. Karoke is pragmatic and cool-minded, but is also capable of dramatic actions in the face of danger.
Even the most experienced Java look to this great man in times of serious trouble. Always ready to risk himself, Ben Karoke is reluctant to risk the lives of others, and places himself in the line of fire on many occasions.
Although Ben has spent the later years of the Republic in the Council on Gnome it has not dulled his skills with the Laz-Sword. His fighting edge still remains.
Ben Karoke was responsible for the rescue of young Ewan Nightmare the son of Thomas J. Nightmare on the terrible Death Cigar. Ben took on Darf Bald and had an encounter with Emperor Sanitarium. He showed that the Java would not give in to the Establishment.
Times get worse for the Java when 3 leading Knights are captured and held for ransom. Karoke decides that all able body Java are to be sent to the conflict zone, to rescue the Java. Karoke puts his life at the front lines during the war and many Java perish but the Establishment are defeated with the help of Princess Lilo's Confederate Army.
Time and time again, Ben Karoke has stood in the centre of great conflicts as the Hanger Wars where his own life was threaten when negotiations failed. However Ben was able to resolve the situation and it was after then that his legend was born.
His fame now has only added to his negotiating skills.
Among Ben's many Haako apprentices is Bullbad Ratts who with Ben's skill rose to the rank of Master and gained a seat on the Council and now sits with his former master.
However over th past years Ben has lost his impact in the galaxy as the Establishment has taken over. It is only when the Confederacy begin having major victories against the Establishment that Karoke and the Council start having an impact of the galaxy.
Ben, a diplomat by nature believes in the power of words over action. But as the galaxy found itself more and more fragmented Karoke found the time for negotiations had passed.
In his later years Ben Karoke found himself more and more involved with the teaching of the new Java order. However right until his death his words carried great weight and he still is remembered to this very day.
In his long career Ben trained 9 Haako's to Knighthood and settled numerous despites and was a leading Java in the Pioneer and Shadow Wars. |
