The black clouds have blown in once again,
I am lost and to be found, where do I begin.
My heart is crushed, my trust is now lost,
You didn't care, how little you knew the cost.
The pieces of my heart now scattered on the floor,
to this friendship, I may have to close the door.
I never knew that such harsh, cold words,
would ever come from one I called "friend".

Never before has my life come to a screeching halt,
but through your eyes, every mistake is my fault.
I never claimed, nor did I say, that I was perfect,
there are some choices that I will always regret.

Sometimes the words you need to hear come too late,
when the chance for love is no longer in debate.
The love my heart once held, has now become hate.
to love you forever is no longer my fate.
You decided that our love wasn't worth the fight,
so now we walk quiet and alone into the night.
I look back again at what might have been,
realizing it ended, before it truly began.
Closeness we once shared is long gone and distant,
for love to die, it takes only a mere instant.
To give up on our love is a choice that we made,
taking everything good away, only the bad remained.
Taking something so precious, special and true,
tearing it to shreds, not knowing what you do.
Harsh words spoken, are like a double sided dagger,
once said, they can't be taken back, until none matter.
The love we once shared we tried to recreate,
but sometimes it truly is...too little, Too Late.
