Awakened is a heart, that was closed to the world,
learning again to feel, and wondering if it should.
A heart now opening very carefully and cautiously,
looking for a future that might be, hopefully.
Trust being the most important part of loving,
taking it very slowly, for a scared heart is moving.
Once it was frightened and alone, afraid to care,

A wall was built so high and strong, the barrier,

True love is so very hard to find,
to the looking eye, it is blind.
How do you learn to trust again,
when broken is how your heart was found.
That first step is so scary,
to a heart that is very leery.
How do you lose the fright,
when true love is within sight.
Wanting to hold you tight,
praying the heart will take flight.
Feeling my heart growing wings,
wanting to soar to higher things.
Thinking that this must be a dream,
or is it as real as it may seem.
Feeling the loss of nerve,
knowing the purpose that it serves.
Making you mine would be great,
knowing you and me are better.
Never to be alone again,
waiting for our New Love to begin.

If the moon and stars should fall, they'd be easy to replace,
I would lift you up to heaven and you could take their place.

we could burn 1,000 candles, to make everything all right.

Our love is the reason that dark red roses have been grown,
love snuck up on us, before either of us had really even known.
