We need to protect Thorpy!
It's a controversial issue. In the wake of the bomb blast in Athens, Australia wants to send armed guards to the Olympics to protect our prized athletes.
What in the world for? What are they going to do exactly? "Oh look, it's a bomb! Quick, shoot it!"
Always a big spokesman for the big issues, Billy Idol is planing to release a song about the subject in time for Olympics. It's a reworking of his classic ditty 'Don't Need a Gun'. Here's a sample of the new lyrics:

When you know the other guy's going to explode

In other late breaking news (can 5 days ago be considered late breaking?), the new season of Big Brother inflicts itself on us yet again. Anybody got any predictions for the winner this time? I've only really seen the first show on Sunday night, but based on that I'll pick the winner to be the tall footy guy. He seems the type to go fairly unnoticed until near the end and goofy enough to capture the hearts of Aussies all over this fine nation.
What about the first to be voted off? I'll pick Aphrodite. And if she doesn't get voted off, she should. Anyone who tries to get a catch phrase started in the first five minutes they've been on TV should be automatically disqualified and sent home. Especially a crap one like "it's a whirlpool". It even has little hand actions involved, both index fingers pointing up, and twirl. Yeah, just like a whirlpool. Good one.
It won't be long before people going to the Sunday night show start dressing up like whirlpools. It must be stopped!
I can't imagine anyone sitting at home going, "Oooo, how intriguing. I want to know more about this whirlpool of which you speak." My thoughts were something along the lines of, "Whirlpool? Oh, you mean the vacuous black hole of your mind."
