Stitch To It Directory And Review | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Magic Needle Inc. Hand painted Needlepoint Kits and Canvases - Wholesale, Retail Another site with canvas work only, but it's a wonderful site. Beautiful canvases many art adaptations. A VERY good selection of Judaica, and a decent amount of what they call Easy Point for people who have vision problems, kids or someone who just wants a quick easy project. The prices seem reasonable for this type of merchandise, you can order just the canvas or get it made up as a kit. Either way check out this site it is probably one of the very best canvas sites on the web. |

Marilyn's Online Needlework Catalog Marilyn's is a great resource especially if you like Stoney Creek Magazine. It pretty much is Stoney Creek. You will find a shopping list here for each issue, making it very easy to buy what you need to do all the projects. There is a nice selection of kits, threads, leaflets and fabric. A solid group of accessories as well.(yes I get kind of hung up on that if you've read a few of these reviews. Accessories make the world go round. They make your stitching life easier and besides they're fun.) They promise to get what you need if they don't have it. I have only one quarrel with the site, they don't give a picture of the floss/thread or fabric they are listing for sale so you can have a look at it. Even though there's a lot of variation, I like to see a picture of the thread or fabric if I buy on line. I'm tactile, and if I can't touch it, I want to see it. Other than that, I like this site quite a bit. Solid, comprehensive, and easy to navigate. |

Monika Carrie Blackwork and Cross-Stitch Design I don't list a lot of sites that have the prices in Pounds Sterling but I simply had to list this one. Her blackwork charts are just fabulous. The one of the Houses of Parliament is worth doing even if you aren't English, and the Sidney Opera House is stunning. There are many others that are quite unique, that you will see nowhere else and make the fact that this business is located in Scotland irrelevant. |

Needlepoint - About.com Typical of an About.com site. Lots of links not all of which may be working but most are. Good information, nice features including a very nice alphabet done in calligraphy which I wish would work for cross stitch. I need something like that for a teacher gift I am trying to design. Very well worth your time |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Needlework Index This page is a real treasure. Animated gifs explain basic stitches, and operations such as the loop start, separating floss, and ending off thread. She also had information on drawn thread, hardanger, and pulled thread work. An EXCELLENT learning and teaching tool. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Needlework FAQs I just fell into this site and what a wonderful surprise it was! Great cross stitch tutorial, information on computer programs, techniques, threads. I could go on, but I won't because you shouldn't be reading this you should be going to the site and bookmarking it right now! |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Needle Necessities - Free Patterns Home of some beautiful overdyed, spacedyed and whateverelse dyed threads. Come here to find out where you can get their beautiful stuff and the occaisonal free pattern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
NeedleMaid Designs What a lovely site this is! Needlemaid sells the designs of Martha Schmidt and all are quite beautiful. Martha works in the traditional areas of cross stitch, pulled thread and Irish Mountmellick embroidery. The Santas from around the world alone are worth a vist to the site. I've never seen anything like them anywhere else. The fee goodies section has diagrams of variety stitches as well as charts, and if you've struggled with french knots a real treat. You'll find here an animation of exactly how to do it, as explained by no less than Elsa Williams. Needle Maid is sure to become a favorite, certain to visit. |

Nessy Lynn's Cross Stitch Patterns Some very nice primitive style designs. This is a wholesale site, but they do have a list of shops that carry their work. If yours isn't on the list why not ask them to contact Nessy Lynn and get their charts? Some of these are really cute and could use a wider following |

Nancy Spruance Designs On-Line Catalog I will say upfront that I am a sucker for Victorian houses. I adore them, and these amazing charts are some of the most wonderful reproductions I have ever seen. Very detailed, full of color, you will be dazzled by them as I was, I am sure. I also liked her Victorian miniatures series that you can use to create your own little neighborhood. These are done in one dark color, but she gives a little chart with suggestions for coloring them. Visit this site and be amazed. |
