Needle Artworks-The Stitcher's Online Resource

This is a fascinating site. It's made up of several teachers/stores, and each is an independent entity. You can take cyberclasses, buy materials, but mostly find a lot of what they call self-directed projects. Purchase one of these to learn a new technique, or learn more about one you already know. Be sure to check out the Special Features section. There you will find the Thread Inventory System which lists just about every thread you can think of. Some are links to other sites, such as DMC, some their own creation. But the value of having them all in one place is obvious. A rich site, worth a visit. If you take one of their cyberclasses, please let me know I would like to hear about your experience.
Needlepoint Now

Online site of the only commercial magazine devoted only to Needlepoint, or as we purists call it, canvas work. There are tips, some free projects from out of print issues and of course information on the magazine. Middlin' decent site, probably a must if you are a devote of this type of needle work.
Northern Needle, Inc. -

A lovely little site. Good selection in a well laid out, attractive, and easy to navigate site. Nice selection of fibers, fabric and charts. My only problem is that some selections lack a picture which makes is hard to choose an item when you buy online. Hardly any of the fabrics had a picture, and this can be a problem if you are trying to make a design choice long distance. But take a look for yourself, and see what you think, you will find a lot to please you.
Cross Stitch with 1-2-3 Stitch!

Another wonderful site. Very comprehensive and a place where I go to find supplies. More items than you can shake a stick at, well laid out so it's easy to surf around and browse. Their newsletter is worth subscribing to, full of info on products. It's not as pretty as the Silver Needle site and they don't have all the nice automatic kit programs but 1-2-3 Stitch is a place to go when you HAVE to find something. A great place to shop. A real favorite of mine
OLDSTITCH

This bare bones site is a MUST SEE! They sell only used and old magazines leaflets and kits. Their prices are great. If you are looking for something a little hard to find, want to save money, or enjoy going through the bargain bin at the store you simply must come here. Very much worth a look.
Remembrances of September 11, 2001

A fairly long list of patriotic charts related to September 11. Many quite good. Take a look for a project to remember something we will never forget.
Welcome To The Red Thread Online

The Red Thread has some truly beautiful canvases for sale, and a few wonderful books as well. (they also have scissor fobs which are nice but I've already gone on record saying I think scissor fobs are silly) Were it not for one very big problem this would be on my list as a major favorite. So what's the problem? Absolutely no prices for anything listed anywhere. You have to call to ask. Which is unfortunate if you don't have unlimited funds and like canvas work, because hand painted canvases are expensive. You might like to know ahead of time how much the item was so you could save for it. Why call and waste everyone's time. Why call if you aren't ready to order yet? This is a silly policy if you ask me.
Silkweaver Cross Stitch Fabrics

Oh how I love Silkweaver. What Thread Express is to fiber this site is to fabric. They have so much stuff, and what stuff they have! Linen, evenweave, aida, hand dyed, you name it they have it. They have this great idea called Stash Packs where you can get small pieces of fabrics to try out and not spend a lot of money, auto ship programs to enhance your stash, at various price points. More than I can say in this small space go check this marvelous site out for yourself. Take your credit card with you, you're going to need it.
Sugar Maple Fabrics - hand dyed fabrics for cross stitch and needlework

If you are inclined to buy stash, hide your credit card before you come here because you will not be able to help yourself, and you will spend the rent money. Their Treat of the Month club is hands down one of the best values on the net. For a low cost you can get a nice selection of colors and counts of fabric randomly chosen. Even better is that you can now tell them the colors you like best and they will try to stick to it. They also throw in a 9x12 piece, in a zipolc with a hole punched in it so you can start a swatch book. How cool is that?

If you're like me, and you are a floss lover you will find much to enjoy here as well. Gorgeous colors, and the Thread of the Month program is extremely reasonable as well. Enough reading already, go, look, enjoy. And don't say I didn't warn you about hiding your credit card.
