Alrighty, SPOILERS AHEAD. ^_^ You have been warned.
A man saw a robe hanging from a tree in a nearby forest. Not knowing who it belonged to he carried it to a lake, where he saw a women bathing in the waters. "Is this yours?" He asked her. "Yes, that is my hagoromo, and it is a custom for me to stay with whoever finds it. The hagoromo existed to only be seen by men who were 'worthy' enough to make decendents. So he bought her back to his town, and after time they fell in love. The tennyo, Ceres was actually falling in love with Mikagi. One day however, their town was attacked by another and Mikagi got injured. "I'm not strong enough to protect you.. I want to be stronger.." So Ceres granted him a portion of her power so he could be happy and protect his village.
That was a mistake, for once he went off to seek revenge on those who attacked him, he had killed every single one of them. "I killed them all.. I will become even stronger for you, Ceres.." So after that he went around gaining power, people joined his tribe in fear that he would become an enemy to them if they refused. Ceres didn't want this anymore, so she begged him to stop, but now he was harsh even to her. "You are not to leave the house, not any man can look at you, you are mine.." But she kept begging him, she wanted her hagoromo back. "My body is getting weaker, I need my hagoromo or I will..." "It's gone, I've long disposed of it, I knew eventually it would take you from me, nothing is going to take you from me.. you are mine.." in a rush of rage Mikagi forced himself upon her. And soon after her and her children tried to escape to find her hagoromo, but Mikagi caught them, and killed one of his own children. "I will not even let my own child take you from me.." But this was too much for Ceres, she used her magic on him (which is why Aki has all those scars. =)) and she killed him. After that, her and her two remaining children went to search for the hagoromo, but she could never find it, and soon, without her robe.. she died. But she kept reviving in Mikagi children to seek revenge and to find her robe, she was forever bound to earth until she found it. What she didn't know was Mikagi had thrown it into the sea, and after thousands of years it took on a way to return itself to Ceres. And formed into a baby, which grew up to an adult in ten nights. It was made so it can heal and protect itself until it returned to Ceres.
