| During the warm afternoons the smallmouth cruise the shallows looking for areas to spawn. They are a blast to catch on light tackle and they put on quite a show. That was the beginning of our smallmouth addiction. Some of us now are making trips to Lake St. Clair where we can boat dozens of smallmouth a day. |

| There have been many memorable times at Houghton Lake over the past 30 years. Besides the fishing, we have enjoyed fish frys, grilling steak dinners, poker playing, campfires, golfing, and an occational trip to the nearby casino. These have been fun trips and with a great bunch of guys. |
