the kiss
Brittle egg-shells ready to crack:
your lips submit and open
under mine's petal pressure.
My pulse reaches inside to taste you.
Careful - for a moment - yet tender
you hang back, you hesitate.
I chew gently on your bottom lip
and then begin to suck.
You pull me in - too late!
Already I'm devouring you.
Saliva splits, tongues dance
in cavern jaws. They bite, dissolve,
until no mouth, no tongues, no teeth are left.
We bite, we suck, we tug, we chew, we feed
flesh inside flesh
consuming, consumed -
cannibal, cannibal.
This is the whole.
And this is dissolution.
We have melted, now
we melt apart
and I give you back your tonsils.
A thread of spittle
hangs in the air between us.
