| To answer that questions.... You all now know that the "black riders" are after the Ring. But guess what?! FRODO has the Ring! Understand that if they find him and get the Ring, they will kill him as well! So why not just hide away at home?!? The Ringwraiths already know where he is, so its not like he can hide away home! Frodo can't put his own town in danger either! He must take the Ring out of the Shire to save the town. "Okay... so he takes the Ring out of the Shire (and to Rivendell)... why does he have to travel even more?!?" The Ring is out of the Shire, but not he nor the Ring is safe! The ringwraiths will find Frodo and the Ring there too! During the council of Elrond in Rivendell, the council concludes that this ring must be destroyed. When that ring is destroyed, so will Sauron, the advancing dark lord, be destroyed: hence, saving Middle Earth from a fate of horror. Sure, they have axes and bows and other various weapons around. Even a wizard with a staff! But none of those weopons can destroy the Ring! The Ring was forged at Mount Doom in Mordor. Because this a magical ring, Mount Doom is the only place it can be destroyed by casting it into the fires it was created in! Frodo does not know the way, but he has been declared the Ring-bearer by the council and fate of the Ring! Therefore, he is the only person that can bring the Ring to destruction and the fate of Middle Earth rests on his quest to destroy the ring after a long journey to Mordor and many obstacles! |
