News Travels Fast

First, the news about the big event that most of us missed. Folks, it appears that there yet was another Crowded House reunion. At Hessie's Shed in Melbourne on April 2, Paul Hester's special guests were Neil Finn and Nick Seymour. Neil came out first, of course, and then Nick joined them. I'm sure it was a lot of fun, but I have to ask, how can it be a reunion without the delicious Mark Hart? Also, how many times can the band reunite before they turn into the Sonny & Cher of the Down Under set?...

In other Mark news, I have none. C'mon people, help me out here! I hear you all complaining about how he's being ignored (I do read my email, you know), but no one can offer me any information. Has he disappeared??? I don't know. Talk to me, friends--you can find me at malonekath@aol.com...

The big Neil news has got to be the performance and party at Abbey Road Studio Two last month. On his birthday in fact. I can't believe that none of my usual suspects has reported to me on the post-show birthday bash. Some friends you are. Dish, dish, already...Also, if you're still whining about Neil reforming Crowded House, do us all a favor and take the advice he offered: "Get over it."...In other Neil news, the Try Whistling This fever is building! Tour dates are still being announced, so hang on, you may be able to fulfill your Neil-related fantasy yet. But 3 nights in Denver? Denver? Any Realtors there who would like to speak to me? Drop me a line at malonekath@aol.com...Neil also pops up on a video for Air New Zealand. As if we need ANOTHER reason to fly to that hallowed nation...Did Neil show up at that Radiohead gig? Was he granted an audience with the revered Thom Yorke?...Finally, Neil has contributed to Fane Flaw's new kiddie album? Can Teletubbies be far behind?...

In addition to hosting his mates, Paul is taking more steps towards his total domination of the television waves. The word on the street is that soon we will all be able to see Paul on our screens. What did I tell you last time?...And lest you think that evenings at the Shed are boring without two other fellas, I had an enthusiastic phone message last month (you know who you are), which ran in part, "Kathy, Paul came out wearing the most darling dress. He's got quite the gams." Hmmm, sounds like the pieces of his worldwide TV broadcast are becoming clearer...

Speaking of dresses, Nick and his brother Mark are wearing lovely ones in the scrapbook photos Mark dug up for publication. The delightful Nick has evidently escaped from Ireland for a bit and has been spotted in Australia. He seems a bit more rested than the last time we caught up with him. And he deserves it...So Nick, how is that solo album work coming?...The word is that he and brother Mark will appear on The Drum this month. Isn't it great to see brothers who get along?...
