A line of Divan sergeants in (158b) leads the procession, which begins with a group of medrese headmasters dressed in robes and huge round turbans and mounted on horseback. In (159a) the imperial stewards (the figures in tall turbans) are followed by the heads of the Chancery departments with the kadis, dressed in the same type of turban as the headmasters, bringing up the rear.
