Synopsis: Thoroughly Modern Millie is a high-spirited musical romp that has all of New York dancing the Charleston. Taking place in New York City in 1922, it tells the story of a young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself. It's a New York full of intrigue and jazz - a time when women were entering the workforce and rewriting the rules of love. Based on the popular movie starring Julie Andrews. Cast (Featuring): Sutton Foster, Angela Christian, Gavin Creel, Harriet Harris, Francis Jue, Marc Kudisch, Ken Leung, Anne L. Nathan, Sheryl Lee Ralph Sutton Foster was featured as the title character in the LaJolla Playhouse production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. She burst onto the scene as a newcomer and soon made her mark as Broadway's newest leading lady. In March of 2002, Sutton reprised her role as Millie Dillmount in the original Broadway company of Thoroughly Modern Millie. Soon Broadway and the national circuit took notice of Sutton's tenacious and exciting breakthrough performance. She went on to win the 2002 Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award and Astaire Award for her performance.
