Tips and Strategies |
Draft A Balanced Team- Remember there 9 categories in a yahoo public league. They all count the same so it doesn't matter if you have the most talented scoring ever if they can't play the whole game you won't win. A gut like Jason Kidd, Kevin Garnett or Antoine Walker are nice to have because they play all phases of the game. |
Pick Up What You Need- If you are last in rebounding but first in assists you should consider picking up a rebounder. You can drop an assist guy so you can fill your need. Even if you see a player who is a little better than the rebounder you see go for the rebounder so you can gain points in rebounding and move up in the standings. |
Don't Go For Rookies Out Of High School- There is a learning curve for all rookies out of high school. Players such as Kevin Garnett,Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady who are all now all stars struggled there first year coming out of high school. Kwame Brown the first overall pick in 2001 has averged only about three points per game but should be a star in a couple of years. |
Don't Waste Games- If you are in a league with a game limit make sure to closely monitor how close you are. If a player is not producing either bench him or pick up a new player. It is not worth it to waste your games on a player like this when they can be used for your good players at the end of the year. |
Draft A Veteran Team- Even though it may not be the flashiest it will get it done. If you see a young star on the rise try to pick him up but until then stay with the savvy veteran. |
Stay Away From Injury Prone Players- Players who are injured every oftn seem to continue this trend. These players may produce for a few games like Grant Hill but once they get injured your in trouble. |
