Names In the site we put an anti-immigration statement and we uploaded our Austrian classmates names and works. We thought that without the names the page could have been easily desregarded. This was a mistake which halted the project. Their criticism was justified and therefore the conversation became stuck on this point and we couldn’t actually continue the discussion. We angered the Austrians and then they they refuse to talk to us about the topic. Some of them understood the idea but the great majority were offended. At this point we were unable to control the direction of the discussion, people were only willing to talk about our mistake. If we compare this “provocative project” with similar ones (such as nazi line), the main difference is the fact that we used their names, not the subject itself. Another difference is that their work was public and this one was meant to be between us and to begin a conversation. Although we played by the rules of the project, the mistake we made ruined the possibility of a further research. |
