Transfusion Medicine supplies all the blood products that are necessary for surgery and for the treatment of many types of blood disorders including anemia's and blood clotting disorders.  Each blood unit is individually typed for a blood group, screened for antibodies, tested against the blood product receiving, and tested for contagious diseases.  This laboratory section maintains blood products in laboratory sufficient for daily patient needs.
