Distant Destinations for Mountain Lovers

Bharmour and Manimahesh Lake, 121 and 153 km away from Dalhousie is the abode of Lord Shiva at Manimahesh at the height of 3500 meters above sea level. The invincible Manimahesh peak is more than 6000 meters high. The Manimahesh Lake has annual holy dip in the month of August/September.

Bharmour is the old capital of Chamba state worth visiting for all its old world charm, wooden temples, apple orchards and rustic beauty. The sleepy town gets very little mention on the itineraries of the tourists but is definitely a must for the adventurous kind.

Tisa, Bhandhal and Pangi Valley, other places for the people, who wish to acquaint themselves with the life beyond civilization, are 140 to 193 km away from Dalhousie. Pangi Valley remain cut off from the world from September to April being snow bound.

Other than these, Dalhousie acts as the base camp for a number of adventurous treks across the Dhauladars to places like Dharamsala
