The Church of the Apathetic Agnostic in Hamilton, Ontario was created on July 28 2003 when Reverend Nikolai Alexandru and Reverend Justin Guest were ordained by the Universal Church Triumphant of the Apathetic Agnostic.
The Right Reverend Nikolai Alexandru was ordained Bishop in May 2005 and the Church moved to Cambridge, Ontario in July 2005. Bishop Alexandru has vacated the Diocese of Hamilton and has been reappointed to the Diocese of Galt. While it is our intention to serve the apathetic agnostic community of Cambridge, our greater responsibility is to the community as a whole, regardless of an individual's faith (or lack thereof). We provide a number of services to the community, including naming ceremonies, weddings and funerals, free from supernatural overtones. |
Our Goals
1. To provide a place for Apathetic Agnostics to learn and grow. 2. To promote Apathetic Agnosticism as a viable, alternative religious choice. 3. To provide ceremonies that are free from supernatural elements. 4. To pursue the same rights and religious freedoms as other recognised religions, while maintaining our belief that any Ultimate Reality, such as God (or gods), is both unknown and unknowable, and that "faith" in such a Creator is irrelevant in order to lead a fulfilling, moral and ethical life. |
