Stanley E. Zuravel Sr. was a loving husband for 43 years, father to 5 sons, and would only have the opportunity to know 4 of his grandchildren because his life was cut short by a drunk driver at the young age of 63.

Family meant everything to Dad, from helping one of his sons get a car ready for college, to helping Mom battle ovarian cancer, to telling Popsicle stick jokes to his grandchildren.   Our family spent every Christmas together  and a week at the beach every summer.

Family was even on his mind as he returned from a Zuravel family reunion in Akron, Ohio to his home in Fayetteville, NC.  Within 30 miles of home, at only 8:00 in the evening, he was hit head on by a drunk driver whose blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.  He crossed not only the center line, but a center turn lane!  Dad was killed instantly, their Buick Park Avenue was no match for the monstrous SUV traveling at 65 mph.  Mom was badly battered and bruised, but fortunately we still have her to hold our family together.

We will miss you Dad, although we will no longer be able to hear you laugh or feel your warm embrace, we will always be together.......
