FAQWhat kind of company are you?
How much do you charge for translating / interpreting?
Taiyo Co., Ltd. was registered and licensed in 1991 by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand. In 1999 Taiyo became a Thai-Japanese joint venture. We are a partner of Cendant Mobility in Thailand. We offer language-related services in all major European and Asian languages. For more information read our profile.
What languages do you deal with?
Information about our translation and interpreting services you can find here. We deal with orders on a case-by-case basis and we shall need details/sample of job you want us to do. We will be sure to give you the most competitive quotation and quality service. We also provide local coordinating and press clipping (media monitoring) service for our customers.
To guarantee high linguistic quality we concentrate on five languages: Chinese (Mandarin), English, Japanese, Russian and Thai. We hire only expert native university graduates for every language, and our standard quality assessment procedure involves native field specialists for specific kinds of translation.
How can payments from abroad be made?
At the moment, the most sensible way for small and medium-sized enterprises in Thailand to accept payments from abroad is SWIFT. To transfer the due fee to us you will need the following information about our account.
Taiyo Co., Ltd.
Bank of Ayudhya, Hua Mark Branch
savings account 143-1-30820-0
SWIFT code AYUDTHBKDo you offer group Thai courses?
Some regular customers send us a sum of money to be used as their credit in transactions with our company. Fees then are deducted as you use our services. It is well worth the trouble since you save a lot on bank processing fees and we offer very comptetitive rates that you most likely won't find in your country.
At the moment we do not offer group Thai classes, instruction is carried on a case-by-case basis. The main difficulty we faced with organizing group classes was accommodating students' different schedules, needs and levels of language proficiency which vary from zero to an almost native fluency. Also, as we teach students of various linguistical backgrounds (Chinese, English, Japanese, Russian, Thai), sometimes it is impossible to carry out instruction in the same language for all the students in the class.
What is the schedule for private courses?
Schedules are flexible though we do not recommend too tight (normally, not more than 3 hours every other or 2 hours every day) or too loose (1 class per week will hardly benefit you) programs. As a general rule, we are closed on the weekend and Thai public holidays, but special arrangements can be made.
What textbooks do you use?
In order to accommodate various needs, native language backgrounds and levels of linguistic proficiency, we use a number of different teaching materials and aids. Please visit one of our locations and we shall be happy to provide you with any further guidance on this matter in person.
What is the schedule for group courses? We also have textbooks on Thai studies for order by mail. You can find the full list here.
On a regular basis we have Chinese, English and Japanese courses conducted on weekday evenings and mornings, and Saturdays and Sundays in our school on Ramkhamhaeng Road. Language of instruction is Thai.
How much is the tuition fee?For more information please contact us.
Tuition fee for private courses is here and for group courses is here. As a general rule, the more people attend the course and the more hours you apply for, the less is the by-the-hour private course rate. Under certain circumstances tuition fee can be negotiated.
What are your teachers' qualifications?
We have a team of experienced teachers that we have worked with since our establishing in 1992. We hire only university graduates with practical experience in teaching languages. You may want to apply for a few trial classes right upon your arrival and then decide whether you want to continue to study at our school. We are very confident about the quality of our service.
Do you have native teachers?
Being a native speaker does not equal correct language usage or teaching expertise. That is why we hire professional and experienced teachers - both native and Thai.We also have multilingual instructors in order to be able to meet such special needs such as teaching Russian to Japanese students or English to Chinese students.
How can I enroll?
Please advise us on the language you wish to study, duration, and preferable content and intensity of the course. Also, please confirm by fax/e-mail your enrollment and studies commencement day at least 2 weeks prior to your arrival to Bangkok.
