The 1950's
*February 2, 1950: Cinderella premieres, the first full length animated story since Bambi.
*July 28, 1951: Alice in Wonderland premieres.
*December 16, 1952: WEP Enterprices is founded as a private company by Walt Disney to design and create Disneyland.
*February 5, 1953: Peter Pan premieres.
*April 6, 1953: Retlaw Enterprices is founded as a private company solely owned by Walt Disney to control the merchandising rights to the name "Walt Disney".
*November 10, 1953: Buena Vista Pictures Distribution distributes their first movie, The Living Desert.
*October 27, 1954: Disneyland airs for the first time. This one-hours weekly program debuts on ABC. It will air for 29 seasons, under 6 different titles.
*June 6, 1955: Lady and the Tramp premieres.
*July 17, 1955: Disneyland opens in Anaheim, California. Walt Disney Production invests $500,000 to own 34,5% of Disneyland, Inc.
*October 3, 1955: The Mickey Mouse Club debuts on ABC.
*June 19, 1957: Walt Disney Productions invests another $528.810 to control another 31% of Disneyland, Inc.
*January 29, 1959: Sleeping Beauty premieres.
The 1960's
*July 6, 1960: Walt Disney Productions buys the resting 34,5% of Disneyland, Inc. for $7.500.000.
*January 25, 1961: 101 Dalmatians premieres.
*December 25, 1963: The Sword in the Stone premieres.
*February 3, 1965: Walt Disney Productions buys WED Enterprices for $4,000,000 from Walt Disney.
*November 11, 1965: Walt Disney announces a major Florida-project.
*December 15, 1966: Walt Disney dies at the age of 65.
*Fall 1967: Site preparation begins on the Florida-project.
*October 18, 1967: The Jungle Book premieres. This is the last animated movie where Disney was personaly involved. He never saw the whole movie.
*Spring 1969: Construction begins on the Florida-project: The Magic Kingdom and two hotels.
