| Story: Long ago in the land of Prydain a boy named Taran lived. He was a assistent pigkeeper at the farm of Dallben, a sorcerer. Taran takes care of Hen Wen, a pig with special powers. He can see the future. So it happens that Hen Wen sees the Black Cauldron, a powerful weapon that can destroy everything if it falls into the wrong hands. Then they see that the Horned King is looking for it with evil plans in mind. Dallben sends Taran with Hen Wen into the forest to the secret cottage to hide from the Horned King. This is the beginning of a grand adventure. Taran looses Hen Wen to the Horned King. He helps the pig escape, but is captured himelf. With the help of prinsess Eilonwy and Fflewddur Fflam, a minstrel, and a magic sword, Taran manages to escape. Gurgi, a furry friend, tells them that Hen Wen is brought to the fairfolk. With the help of the fairies, the group start their quest in search of the Black Cauldron to destroy it before the Horned King finds it. When they meet three witches, Taran must choose between his sword, which makes him a hero, or the Black Cauldron. He gives them his sword, they give him the cauldron. When they have the cauldron it gets clear that there is only one way to destroy the Black Cauldron: a living being has to sacrifies his life by jumping into it. Taran and the group gets captured by the Henchmen of the Horned King. Back in his castle, The Horned King brings the Black Cauldron to life and with this his army of dead men. Gurgi comes to the rescue and frees Taran, Eilonwy and Fflewddur and then jumps into the cauldron. The cauldron's power fades away and the army falls apart. In a fight between Taran and him, the Horned King is destroyed by the Black Cauldron. When they've escaped the collapsing castle, the three witches appear again to take the cauldon. This time Taran and his friends bargain with them. The cauldron for Gurgi. So it's done and the group can finally go home again. |
